Our lovely founder Sumayya needed a much sought break after looking after her daughter, starting up a new business, being a full time wife so she recommended we take a day out of our routine lives and go for a day to a lovely hotel, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray.

JZB is the penultimate hotel on the side of the palm frond facing out towards the Persian Gulf.
The entrance is like an immense Arabian palace complete with pools and water features. The outer structure is as impressive as the inside which also features Hollywood memorabilia which one may be interested to have a look at.
Day passes are a new addition since the pandemic started. Initially a day pass was 250dhs but now the pass is:
200dhs and this amount is also fully redeemable against food and beverages at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray hotel restaurants and on the beach. Essentially, you get to use the facilities of the hotel which include the changing rooms, children’s pool, pools and beach for free.
We ate at Plaj which is right next to the beach. I went for the Greek meatballs. Initially I was brought a Greek salad and when the waitress realised she had brought out the wrong dish, she kindly brought out some lovely bruschetta. The service was wonderful as was the food which I would highly recommend.
We spent the day relaxing on the beach and our lovely server brought us ice cream, brownies and Moroccan tea. The cost of the day pass goes quite a long way to getting you delicious food and drink –
you can easily have a main meal with a drink and then perhaps a desert and another drink.
The hotel has a lovely children’s pool which has amazing slides and water canons and fountains for children to play within.
The atmosphere at the beach is lovely with beach loungers on one side and sofas and tables on the other. The climate here is much cooler compared to other beaches because it is an enclosed beach which looks over towards Atlantis.
We didn’t get a chance to try it out but the hotel boasts an amazing spa which we are eager to try out next time.
My top tip is to definitely use the washroom that are inside the main body of the hotel as opposed to those attached to the changing rooms!
