Dubai Hills Golf Club

Dubai Hills golf club

When you want to feel like you’re on holiday, sometimes you need a good break away from the norm then that is what Dubai Hills golf club can offer you.

Nadia had the wonderful task of checking out this venue!

So I’m not going to lie, golf is not my game. When I was living in the UK our house looked over Royal Lytham golf club and I’ve been to watch the royal open and I’ll be honest I thought that golf was the most boring game and I think that’s mostly because I don’t understand the rules. I just went to spot Tiger Woods and George Clooney mingling in the crowd. So when my friend invited me to the Dubai Hills golf club I was sceptical.

On first impressions I was like wow, this estate is absolutely stunning. The villas were white washed just how I like them, with large open windows. The driver dropped me at the foot of the ramp, but unfortunately the main entrance is closed at the moment due to Covid so I found my way walking down the ramp towards the buggy entrance. After having my temperature checked I was allowed to enter and as I walked up a beautiful set of stairs lit with ambient lighting I was blown away by the beautiful open space in front of me. To one side was a beautiful display cabinet with Omega watches in case I fancied a bit of window shopping and in front of me was the golf course in all its glory. There were birds everywhere, some I have never seen before in Dubai. The waiting lounge at Dubai Hills golf club was absolutely stunning with high walls and large windows looking over the course. It’s absolutely stunning.

We went to the Hillhouse Brasserie, and as it was a glorious day we sat outside on the terrace. The actual interior of the restaurant is gorgeous and is designed in a very modern French chic way. The porcelain on the walls is exactly what you would see in the French department stores. If the weather hasn’t been beautiful I think I would’ve actually enjoyed sitting inside more. The terrace is overlooking the golf course and they’ve kept social distance by making tables 2 m apart from one another. The staff were lovely and they were able to help us sit as away from those who were smoking and didn’t bother when we kept moving tables.

For drinks we had Tomato juice which came with salt, pepper, lemon, and Worcester Sauce (if you know, you know) and I had Lemon mojito. For lunch I went for the Crispy Smoked Duck salad. Goodness me, this might have been the best salad that I have ever eaten. We are talkingScotched orange, pickled ginger,Spiced cashews and don’t get me started on the duck. I can genuinely say I finished the whole thing and could’ve had another plate more. My friend had a full English roast dinner and do you know what, I think I need to go back for that. The prices are a little bit more on the expensive side but that’s what you get when you have the most beautiful view overlooking the Dubai skyline with the bridg spiced cashews and don’t get me started on the dark. I actually wish I had more time to just sit there and enjoy the ambience. It was so chilled out and laid-back watching people play golf which I still don’t understand, and the birds chirping and flying around. I’m actually really excited to go back to Dubai Hills golf club at any opportunity that I get.

As far as child friendly goes I guess this place is open plan but if you’re taking a pushchair at the moment it’s a little bit harder due to Covid and the restrictions placed upon the golf course.

Despite that I would say it’s worth the effort and it’s definitely one of the most beautiful spots I have come across in Dubai.
